Fastest Laptop – Contributing Computer Parts Accountable For Its High Speed

Man’s life in this modern world has been in the super-fast pace. Is this because of technology or the other way round – technology trying to cope with man’s running? Indeed, technical innovations are also on the run – one new gadget today, another gadget tomorrow. A fast computer today will no longer be the fastest laptop tomorrow. The self proclaimed computer geek and business man alike is always on the lookout for the fastest PC, fastest laptop, or fastest phone so he must be adept on the parts that account for the speed, which depends on several factors.

Processor and Speed

Processor is the most important part of a computer – the heart and the brain that is in-charge of delegating all the tasks. Without a fast processor, your computer is useless.  It will be limited to do actions such as multi-tasking and running the applications and programs. And what type of computer processor should you choose?

Intel or AMD in the Fastest Laptop

There are different companies developing processors. Two of these had been in competition for market leadership – Intel and AMD. Years ago, it was easy to determine the speed of a computer. You just have to determine which has the higher clock speed. Thus, in those days there was the MHz war between these two companies. When Intel introduced its Pentium 4, AMD retaliated with the Athlon XP.

There was a time when AMD had a brief edge on Intel as far as the PC gaming niche is concerned. But then, Intel released its Core 2 duo processor. And with Intel’s new technology, the Quad Core, this company is again the king of high performance processors. This is the result of the research of computer engineers of Intel. Instead of one processor that is designed to work fast, the computers are endowed with several fast processors, each processor sharing in the processing load to speed things up. Two heads are better than one?  How about four. Of course and this was applied to desktop computers and laptops alike.

Other hardware affecting fastest laptop speed

Two hardwares are identified as computer components that directly affect the speed of a computer or laptop. These are the RAM and the BUS. The RAM, or memory, is the way the device stores and retrieves data. The larger the memory is, the faster the performance because the computer will not have to backup data to the hard drive. The BUS is like a pipe in the computer; the channel in which the data pass through. The bigger the pipes are, the faster the processing is.  The fastest laptop will have ram an a bus similar to that of a desktop pc, without consern for conserving battery power.

Old PC solution for better speed

Computer and laptop owners who could not always upgrade their computers do not have to despair. Their devices can still be made quicker, though not as fast as the new models of available laptops. But still, there could be an enhancement in speed. And it is easily done. First, remove all unneeded programs from the hard drive that you have no use for. Second, cleanup the registry of your computer to remove left over entries from these programs.

These are some of the few the major features you have to look for when buying the fastest laptop. You have to inquire about the processor, the RAM and the BUS. And perhaps, to some users, the brand can be considered. Intel or AMD?
